Avocados have the potential to help people achieve their weight loss goals. The 2021 randomized controlled study showed that families who consumed more avocados than the control group which ate 14 avocados per week found that they reduced their total calorie intake while improving their dietary choices according to Dr. Lorena Pacheco who served as the first author and worked as a nutritional epidemiologist and researcher at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and UC San Diego Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health.


The families who consumed more avocados experienced a complete transformation of their dietary habits which resulted in healthier eating practices according to her statement. 


Multiple factors led to the results which Pacheco identified as the main reasons behind the outcomes. People who eat avocados benefit from the fiber content which produces a lasting feeling of fullness that causes them to eat less food according to her explanation.
